چکیده

A necessary and sufficient condition for the resolution of the weak extension problem is given. This criterion is applied to also give a criterion for the solvability of the classical Bochner’s extension problem in the L–category. The solution of the L–extension problem by Bochner [1] giving the relation between the order of the operator, the dimension, and index p, for which the L–extension property holds, can be viewed as a subcritical case of the general L–extension problem. In general, this property fails in some critical and in all supercritical cases. In this paper, the L–extension problem is investigated for operators of all orders and for all 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞. Necessary and sufficient conditions on the subset of L are given for which the L–extension property still holds, in the critical and supercritical cases.

A model for the "Fuzzy TOPSIS" based on Zadde's extension principle

The TOPSIS process is one of the most comprehensive systems designed for decision making with multiple criteria, since this technique enables formulation of the problem as decision matrix, as well as the possibility of considering different quantitative and qualitative criteria in the problem. Fuzzy TOPSIS methods have been introduced to make fundamental decisions that make decisions decisions ...

An extension of Bochner's problem: Exceptional invariant subspaces

A classical result due to Bochner characterizes the classical orthogonal polynomial systems as solutions of a secondorder eigenvalue equation. We extend Bochner’s result by dropping the assumption that the first element of the orthogonal polynomial sequence be a constant. This approach gives rise to new families of complete orthogonal polynomial systems that arise as solutions of second-order e...

A Combined group EA-PROMETHEE method for a supplier selection problem

One of the important decisions which impacts all firms’ activities is the supplier selection problem. Since the 1950s, several works have addressed this problem by treating different aspects and instances. In this paper, a combined multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) technique (EA-PROMETHEE) has been applied to implement a proper decision making. To this aim, after reviewing the theoretica...

A multi-criteria vehicle routing problem with soft time windows by simulated annealing

This paper presents a multi-criteria vehicle routing problem with soft time windows (VRPSTW) to mini-mize fleet cost, routes cost, and violation of soft time windows penalty. In this case, the fleet is heterogene-ous. The VRPSTW consists of a number of constraints in which vehicles are allowed to serve customers out of the desirable time window by a penalty. It is assumed that this relaxation a...

Contractor selection in MCDM context using fuzzy AHP

Contractor selection is one of the most important problem in supply chain and itsstrongly effect on firm`s performance. Because a significant amount of auniversity`s budget assigns to construction contracts, contractor selection is animportant problem for the financial status of universities. Since Contractor selectionis a multi-criteria decision making problem (MCDM), lots of methods proposed ...
